15 years ago, I started to transition from a distinguished career in consumer electronics, into one as a fine art appraiser and arts educator. What began with part time classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University, concluded in 2019 with a Master of Arts in Art History and Visual Culture from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO. Art appraisal studies began in 2007-2008 when I completed the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) program and passed the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, USPAP for the first time. Next came the Sotheby’s-London Summer Art Market Program. A resurgence in my consumer electronics business activity led to a scaling back of appraisal activities until we permanently relocated to South Florida in 2019.
